I have downloaded the free version Freeway Express. When I press command-shift-s to invoke Save As to save a copy of my site, I am presented with two icons at the bottom (see example). What is the difference? - Paul
On the left is the normal “save a document” format, and on the right is a little-used format provided by Mac OS called “stationery”. Stationery is in every way identical to a normal document, except when you open it again later (and every time thereafter) it will prompt you to give it a new filename. The document window will have Untitled or New Document or some variation on that rather than the filename.
The use case for stationery is if you have a bunch of defaults that you always use in a new project, you can set them all up once and then “open” that document to start from those presets on a new project. So rule of thumb: never save as stationery unless you really want that behavior.
