Why is it on some computers the test squishes on top of the page? It’s like it piles on top of itself. And for some reason the text is more like a Gif file instead of an HTML test box? Does it have to do with settings I am not aware of?

First try and change your text back to html text. Select your text box and in the Inspector Window change it to html. The way it is now Google or any other search engine is not going to see the content.
