Feather/Soft Edges?

After spending hours at this, I still can’t figure out how to feather/soft edge a couple of photos so I that I could lay them side by side, and overlapping a little.

Seems really easy with Illustrator, but couldn’t figure out the way to do this in Intaglio!

Any ideas? Thanks!

Intaglio don’t have that feature yet but, you can achieve the same effect using masks.

OK, I’ve figured out how to feather one edge using an intensity mask with a gradient. Is there an easy way to soft edge the other 3 sides too?

Thanks.

Overlap the pictures, select them and go to Window>Effects. In the Effects dialogue box, click the Plus icon and select Standard>Exterior Glow. Either picture can be moved independently and the all-round soft shadow moves with it.

The shadow on the frontmost picture overlaps the lower picture. If that’s a problem, group both objects before adding the Exterior Glow effect.
