Hi chaps … this is no criticism of support who have been more than helpful with a couple of questions but given it’s a bank holiday I can use this time to work on the site.
I’d like the file names to appear if I use ‘Thumblie’ … I don’t see a way of doing this … any thoughts please ?
When you say ‘file names’ do you mean a Title and/or description?
If yes then you need to click on the “Show/Hide Thumbnail View” button at bottom left of the Exhibeo panel (small grid icon), to hide the thumbnail view and show the collection of source images, then double click on any image and you’ll then be able to add a Title and Description to your image in the resulting panel, click on the tick and then go back to the Thumbnail view to see result.
Thanks dave … but no … all of the images have their own file name, as it happens generated by Lightroom when I export them. This is, as it were, a catalogue number and I’d like to be able to automatically see this in, say, Thumblie so the person viewing on the net can telephone and order ring number 333. I’d prefer not to have to add these manually … there are hundreds of them !
It’s not possible to automatically bring these in right now. It’s on the roadmap but I can’t give any indication of when it might be added I’m afraid.
Cheers,
Joe

I would like this also. It seems like a simple thing to move the name to TITLE. My images are historical and need these names to make them meaningful to others. You expect one to rename all their images?

I want to throw my vote into the ring for this option.
I need the existing file names of the imported images to populate the Title field for each image. I need the clients to be able to see the file name and do not want to manually do that for 100’s of images in multiple galleries for each one.
Does Exhibeo 2 possess this ability? I can not upgrade to 10.10 to find out, other apps I need will not run on that.

Yes, in Exhibeo 2 you can import the filenames of your images as titles. To do this, you simply select the images for which you wish to import the titles, and then choose the Image > “Import Item Settings” > “Import Title from Filename” menu option.
You can also import titles and descriptions from the image metadata.
Hope this helps,
Stewart

The menus I’m selecting that you can’t see are Edit (for Select all) and Image (for Import item settings).
Cheers!
