Firefox Problem

I am having an interesting but perplexing problem. This website is a year or so old, but suddenly, the links on this page are not working in firefox.

http://www.rentoys.com/store/Shields/Warrior/warrior.html

They work fine in Safari on Mac, but a work computer PC w/ FireFox, they won’t work. If you hover over them, the correct url appears at the bottom of the page and the pointer changes to a hand, but then nothing happens.

All the shields on that page and the text link at the top should go to the same page, but none of them are working on PC Firefox. (Firefox for Mac works just fine). I’ve never had this problem before. If someone could give me a clue I’d be grateful.

Thanks,
Doty

This website is a year or so old, but suddenly, the links on this page are not working in firefox.

Just checked on a Mac with Windows in Parallels and all looks ok to me running FF.

Just for the heck of it go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cache - Clear Now.

This has happened to me before, and it could be what’s happening in your case as well. What I found was that there may be a FF update waiting to be installed which seems to mess things up until you install it.

You might also want to go to Help > Check for updates.

Just a few things that I would try.

Another thought – if this only happens at work – you might be seeing the result of some border router magick going on. If you have a properly paranoid IS department, they might have set some rules on the router to prevent certain URLs from being accessed.

Another possibility is that they may have been lazy about implementing DNS properly, and you might be trying to reach a host that doesn’t exist in your PC’s understanding of the Internet.

It’s a great excuse to get a coffee – go out to an Internet cafe and test it there. Just because it doesn’t work at your desk doesn’t mean that it’s broken!
