I just discovered that the Fling service was not working correctly any more (likely because Amazon updated their API), so I took the opportunity to rebuild it. The new system is a lot faster, because it uses a direct upload to Amazon S3, instead of doing a two-step – upload to the server, then upload from the server to S3.

That is the 404 page. The trick was getting it to fire if the record was just expired, and not yet deleted (separate reaping process cleans those up).
