FLV player-problem in FireFox display

I’ve added videos to my webpages, and they display and work just fine in preview, and in Safari.

However, in FireFox, I get thin lines (2-3px, the color of my background) cutting through my graphics horizontally (the full width of the page) at the very top and bottom of the video objects.

I’ve tried checking the “hide player” box in the Actions window - No difference. Didn’t see any other relevant posts on the board.

I don’t have IE on my computer, so I haven’t checked that.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

You dont say what version of FW you are using - Express by any chance? Or an unlayered layout.

It may be nothing to do with the action but the way the page is being built.

Turn on HTML layout in the View menu - does this show the construction lines in the same place as you are getting the break up?

Hi David.

I’m using FW Express 5.61.

Yes, the construction lines are where the break up occurs.
What does that mean?!?

Thanks,
Tim

It means that you probably have a graphic background behind your Video

Look at this Colored graphic background breaks apart and displays with lines or blocks through it - Freeway - Softpress Talk

Am I missing something obvious?

The original graphic in my stack (Bkg/graphic/FLV) is a jpeg.
In the “HTML” type is greyed out in the output tab of the graphic inspector.

I tried the other options (GIF, PNG and changed the colors to “web 216”) - the graphic still breaks up

I tired deleting the graphic item and re-importing it as an HTML item. This works, until I try to send it behind the FLV. Then the graphic disappears (replaced by a blue X) and I get a message that the item is overflowed and will not be published.

I tried making the HTML item larger than the graphic, but it still says it’s overflowed?!?

Thanks again,
Tim

Thought I had the workaround - drat!
I made the graphic the page background. Now it doesn’t break up, but the FLV’s have shifted!?!

Tried locking them, and checking the “background scrolls” box.

Does it matter that I have 3 FLVs on the page?

This is a case where we would need to see it online - can you be more specific how the movies have ‘shifted’

It shouldn’t make any difference how many you have unless they are overlapping each other. Are your containers in FW the actual size of the movies including any controllers?
