folder access

When I create a folder to place random, yet temporary, pages in it, can I do something in FWPro to deny access to that folder if a person typed it into the browser?

ex - site.com/random/ and entering that would normally give a list of items contained - I want to prevent that.

Is this something that is changed in FWPro or on my server?

The only way you can do this is to change the permissions on the
folder and that would prevent you from seeing the page too!

The best option is to contact your host and get them to password
protect the folder.

I hope this helps,

Joe

Thank you, I was afraid that was the case - I can password protect the folder myself on the host. I was really hoping I could hide the folder from public view without denying access to the pages within.

On my sites - which use Cpanel - there is a feature called Index Manager

Index Manager

The Index Manager allows you to customize the way a directory will be viewed on the web. You can select between a default style, no indexes, or two types of indexing. If you do not wish for people to be able to see the files in your directory, choose no indexing.

Is this what you are after?

Hello Folks,

I am having a bit of a problem with a test page I was putting
together. When I click on the preview pane my layout shifts on the WEB
page. Things do not look like they do in the page view. I have a short
demo of the issue if someone could take a look and let me know what I
might have done wrong I would appreciate it.

Demo site: http://www.sburrow.com/freeway/

Thanks,

Sam

All I can tell you is that your demo page causes Safari to crash on my system!

Check the positioning of the photostrip. Is it set to Fixed or Absolute in the Inspector?

That’s strange. It is just a WEB page I put together quickly in
Freeway with an embedded 1.2mb .mov video demoing the problem.

I found out what the problem was. I had reused an existing test
Freeway site folder without clearing it out and apparently it was
picking up something from the old site. I recreated the scenario using
a fresh folder and all worked out.
