++ Formatting Tables to shrink to content

Sorry to pester, but Š

I cannot find a way in FWP 5 to have tables shrink to the content.
I’ve tried the manual and the KB and of course experimentation!

Can someone point me in the direction of some documentation/help.

Cheers

Best wishes Peter

Try selecting the cell or the entire table and then goto your Inspector palette and click on the the little graphic buttons on the top until you see a menu that has options like “Height Can Shrink” as a check box and then check it.

Sorry the explanation is a little sparse, I don’t have the program in front of me right now.

Yes, that’s what I would have done [Height Can Shrink] in previous versions
of FW but in my current version 5.3.1 (6259) I just don’t get that option.

I’ve created a new document and put some tables there and as far as I can
find there is just no option!!!

Best wishes Peter

If your table is a layered table (green outline) then I would use weavers table layer action
Collapse Layer Table FW4 (1.39 K) - (1.0 9/20/06)
and you can find it here
http://www.coastalrugs.com/Actions/misc.actions.html

This mimics what you can do when a table is not layered (blue outline)

all the best max

Hi Max,

Thanks, I tried Weavers “Collapse Layer” action which I was unaware of and
that fixes my problem.

Cheers

Best wishes Peter
