formatting text in titles/captions Thumblie

Is there a way to format/style text in titles or captions using theme Thumblie? I’ve been unable to do this in Thumblie’s metadata view. Right now, I want to italicize certain words.

It’s not currently possible to do that, no. Sorry.

THE ANSWER IS ABSOLUTELY YES!!!

To do it, you only need to know a secret that even Softpress doesn’t yet know about their own product. It’s simple and does not require any additional software. And everyone can do it.

PS. I am still on vacation, so all thankless complaints about how hard we work to make the truly cool possible with Softpress products should be directed as far elsewhere as possible.

Thanks, The Big Erns.
This works quite well, especially in the caption field text. I do notice that text placed in the title field is used for the thumbnail hover pop-up.
All characters placed in the title field are used, including user-supplied mark-up which is not rendered. So there seems to be a trade-off there. (But I’m not an experienced web author, so there is a good chance I may be overlooking something.)
Large image view does work for me. Thanks again for your answer and tutorial.

Nice catch.

Exhibeo doesn’t allow for custom alt tags (alt tags are what create the thumbnail hover label). I understand perhaps why the developer chose to do that… but disagree with their thinking. It’s a rookie assumption that they’ve made to include an alt tag but not understand or allow for it’s proper usage… Would an extra alt tag field in the title/caption pane have killed them?

Alt tags are optional semantic descriptors for search engines… they are also pure text so they are rather literal, hence showing our internal style tags. You are right, there is a trade-off here… unless the developer decides to improve how alt tags are implemented in Exhibeo.
