Simon, quick question. When a new, minor update is released, such as with 6.0.3, do we have to delete and reapply any actions used or will they automatically recognize the new version?

Any Actions you installed in the normal way should just work. If you cracked open the Freeway application bundle and edited the Actions inside it, you would need to copy those out to the desktop, and ideally you would install them in your Library so they could persist across upgrades.

Hi Simon,

I can confirm that the latest update fixed a LOT of issues. Thank you so much.

However I’m still having problems with SmoothScroll. Please let me know if it works in your testing environment.

Thank you Simon… but we’re still not able to use the german version. Still switches back to arabic fonts in document (setup text coding) and no chance to setup any language (Inspector, Document Setup).

Hi,

Great stuff, glad to hear it.

However I’m still having problems with SmoothScroll. Please let me know if it works in your testing environment.

I’m not familiar with this particular issue, but SmoothScroll is a third party Action. A lot don’t but some Actions need to be updated for Freeway 6, Walter has a lot of Actions and not a lot of spare time so it may just be that he hasn’t gotten to updating this Action yet, or that he hasn’t seen the issue yet, if it is an Action in need of an update for 6.

That said, I just made a very simple test document with the Action and didn’t see any problem. I made a 2000px tall page and drew two HTML items, one at the top and one at the bottom, and added the SmoothScroll Action to the page. In the bottom one I added some text and gave that text an anchor, (Edit>Anchor) then in the top one I added some text and applied a hyperlink to that anchor.

Previewing this in Firefox, I got a gradual scroll between the top of the page and the bottom of the page when clicking the link at the top.

Thanks Simon. I must be doing something wrong. I’ll post a link to the page I’m having trouble with and perhaps Walter or somebody else can help me figure out why it’s not working. Thanks again for all your efforts. Have a great weekend!

O,K I ask again: when is it possible to use the german version FWP 6?

Hi Tom,

Please correct me if I’m wrong about this, but these issues don’t prevent the software from being used. It’s this reason that they haven’t been of top priority for us. The fonts that can be selected in the document setup are the internal display fonts used by Freeway, so have no effect on the output and the language option isn’t essential for the site to function.

That isn’t to say we won’t fix the issues, it’s just that we have to prioritize the work we have accordingly. I hope you understand.

Joe
