Freeway 6 @ 50% off

Had an email from TRI-EDRE yesterday. They have a 48 hour flash sale with 50% off all their software. This includes Freeway 6 and upgrades.

http://www.tri-edre.fr/english/

Just ordered my upgrade.

I think it ends today (11th April).

I don’t know what you find cheaper and discount, but they charge 79,-- euro for an upgrade while Softpress charges 59 DOLLAR?
i think that softpress is the best ( always) option here

Are you daft? I clearly stated that the offer ended on the 11th April. The prices are back to normal now.

I upgraded from Freeway Pro 5.0 and paid €33.44.

Softpress would have charged me £76.99.

I think I chose the best option!

Yes I seen that also, €79 - 50% discount on the price (€39.50) comes in at a couple of Euros less than Softpress’s upgrade price of €44.99
The base price is 70% more than the Softpress price so looks like your getting a really good deal… when it actually wasn’t the deal it was made out to be, (50% off an extreamly elevated price)

The Tri-Edre price isn’t elevated. They charge €79.99 (£68.32) to upgrade from Freeway Pro 5.0 (not 5.5) to version 6.

If I enter my Freeway Pro 5.0 serial on the Softpress site I get an upgrade price of £76.99.

So I got a discount of 50% on their already cheaper price, plus they knocked the VAT off and I only paid €33.44 (£28.56) - over 62% off in total.

I call that a very good deal.

Firstly lets stick to €’s then there is not mix up between €, £ and $.

Tri-Edre’s price to upgrade from FW Pro 5.5 is €79.99
Softpress’s price is $44.99
Both these prices include VAT which in Europe everyone has to pay, so…

€79.99 / 2 = €39.99 (€79.99 with 50% off) then brings the price to €5 less than Softpress’s upgrade price of €44.99 ( €44.99-€39.99 = €5), if that is what is interpreted by the price before 50% discount not being elevated… then fine!

If you are relating to earlier versions then maybe that should be made clear, certainly for an upgrade for anyone using Pro 5.5 it isn’t the deal it was made to sound

Two American cents here… sorry to ‘cheat’ softpress but my upgrade, thanks to your post, cost me $45 us instead of $59.

I concede that for owners of version 5.5 the offer was not that great, but for any lapsed users like me, still using versions 3 to 5, the upgrade price to 6 was unbeatable.

And anyone on 5.5 saved a few dollars, pounds or euros!

Both these prices include VAT which in Europe everyone has to pay

It isn’t true that everyone in Europe has to pay VAT. Anyone VAT registered from an EU member state purchasing from another EU state just has to provide their VAT number and the VAT is not charged.

I have some French clients and I am in the UK. They provide me with their TVA (VAT) number and I don’t add VAT to their invoices.

It is not true that everyone in Europe has to pay VAT. If you are VAT registered (or equivalent), purchase something from another EU member state and quote your registration number you don’t pay the VAT.

I have a few French clients and if they have a TVA number (French VAT number) then I don’t charge them VAT.

On a related note, do Softpress charge different prices for the software and upgrades in pounds/dollars/euros and are UK users being charged more a la Adobe? If so it seems strange given than Softpress are UK based.

Sorry for the double post. I checked a short while after my first post and it hadn’t appeared so I rewrote it. Now they’ve both showed up.

They would get an invoice without VAT correct but then your accountant declares the VAT when you do your tax return so on paperwork you are charged it then it is returned because you are a company but for all intentant purposes there is a VAT return done on the purchase for inter EU transactions. That is how it works here for my inter EU transactions and all EU countries are expected to operate the same way.
