Freeway Express & Mountain Lion

Does FE work with 10.8.2, I D/L Freeway Express and am told I have 17 days left but when opening Freeway all I get is an opening dialog and when I click close Freeway never opens, it hangs. It appears to be active and yet nothing happens. REally want to try tis but seem unable to load or something. Anyone have a clue??? Thank you.

Bob, I don’t want to offend, but when you say “hangs” have you gone to the File menu and clicked on it?

FW Pro on on Mountain Lion on my machine has an odd (to my way of thinking) habit- it appears to be “dead” on startup but it’s not; you can hover over the menu all you want, but it won’t do anything until it has been clicked on, from then on everything proceeds as normal.

Go to File(click)>New and all should be well.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks Peter, that is a strange way to access it but it seems to work. They need to work on that.

No, that’s normal behaviour. You launch the application and, if you don’t choose to make a new file to work on, it just sits there waiting for you to do so. It can’t make a new blank file like, say, TextEdit would do (not that it does anymore!) because it doesn’t know what sort of file you want.

Yes it is normal behaviour, and I did take FW Pro’s name in vain unjustly in my response!

While I did single out FW as having an odd, habit it’s Apple’s habit not FW’s, and I do apologise for the mis-speak!

I don’t get why the OS menus are happy to be all active once one has been clicked but not before? I am sure someone at Apple had a good reason!

Cheers,

P
