I am configuring FW5.1.1 to establish a Shopping Cart on Mal’s e-commerce site. I’ve done all the preliminaries… Hash code, etc. Upon creating a sample FWShop page, the Uploading it and clicking on the link to the item for the 1st time… I get the following message:
FREEWAY CONFIG
The shopping cart will automatically attempt to load a new configuration file when you change your settings in Freeway.
Sorry, it was not possible to load your new configuration: It was not possible to connect to your webserver at: http://www.pearlharborchild.com/
Please login to Admin and correct the URL in Your details
My FW Upload settings are for this URL, however the ISP requires hosted websites to reside in the htdocs folder as the root.
I have tried SEVERAL different configs in Mals and FW5 — but to no avail.
I even have removed EVERYTHING from the website, uploaded the sample page, played with matching the URLS-- but nothing… How frustrating!!!
Ideally, I want the FW Shop to be a unique .freeway file-- to be published to its own sub website called store-mals. This way it is independent of the static site.
It looks as though you have the word /htdocs/ in your site name in the Preferences dialog. Try removing that. If you need to add that anywhere, it would be in the Directory field.
In my FW5 Upload settings under Directory… I have the htdocs specified there-- and the root directory only (including the http://) in the web address field.
I have tried Mal’s config with and without the /htdocs-- after the .com — but nothing seems to work.
Just a thought. In the past I have had a similar message. If memory serves, when you create your Hash key, you have more than one option. Try one of the other options. It worked for me, but it was a while ago and I can’t remember which option I chose.
Kryten, Thanks much…UNFORTUNATELY that doesn’t work.
The only hash option that generates a universal hash is #3. The other 2 create them for individual products.
