From HTML To XHTML

I have just seen a site done by a friend in Rapidweaver which uses XHTML 1.0 strict by default and it shows up really well on my mobile phone even though the site certainly wasn’t designed with that intention. It appears to have stripped out all the superfluous design but left any images and text in a nicely viewable form.

From what I’ve just been reading XHTML is the way to go for mobile sites, so thinking about a site I’ve been working on in Freeway with HTML 4.01 Strict I thought I could change that to XHTML in the document set up to see how it works but I see that the coding remains as before rather than rewriting to XHTML. I’ve tried force republishing but is there something else I need to do in order to get Freeway to rewrite the site as XHTML?

No, the only thing you have to do is go to each page and change the output setting in the Inspector to XHTML. When you make the change in the site preferences, you are changing the default for any new page you create from that point on.

Thanks, I should have thought of that!
