Frustrating crash on nested HTML adjustments

Afternoon knowledge bearers. I am experiencing some buggy behaviour from my precious Freeway 5. Every time I adjust the custom boarder options of a nested html item on my index page the program freezes and the evil beach ball appropriates my cursor. This is really strange behaviour so I wanted to know what I should be looking for. I’ve shut down, deleted html items and recreated but I’m having the same problem every time. The site is in construction but you can see the problematic html parent on the about section of the site below. The beach ball emerges everytime I change the border properties of one of the children to the content box

udio.co.uk

please help me
take care
Jim

Hi James,

yes frustrating indeed. One thing I did when I have had some problems (in my case FW crashing when creating a new font set) was to delete the preferences from the user → library → preferences → Freeway 5. xxxx.

After restart Freeway will create a new one. Please keep in mind, that you’ll loose some settings (workspace …) but even better then always to stuck on the same thing.

But not sure if this helps you out - or if this makes any sense - just a quick shot.

Cheers

Thomas

Thanks Thomas

As it seems quite superficial this might work but I cannot access my freeway preferences. In my Preferences folder there is a Freeway Preferences file but it seems not to open in the program, it just starts up freeway instead. Any ideas on this?

Ok, preferences deleted and the problem is still here. This seems to have come from nowhere and despite the odd twitch I’ve had no problems with Freeway bugs before, also the page is a very simple one. Any more suggestions?

Then you should have a quick contact to softpress support team.

hi people, I really want to get this site up and have no idea why there is such a problem, any more ideas?

Not sure why this might be happening but… try fixing permissions on
your computer and see if that helps.

Are you altering the border width to the left and right of a container that cannot then fit? Freeway can experience unexpected overflow items (but not necessarily crashes).

Try changing the box border width to the top or bottom only, or make the width of the box much narrower, alter the border width, then make the box wider to fill your space. See if it still causes a crash.

Just a thought.

David you have excelled yourself. I can actually sleep feeling like the world did not conspire against me for just one day thanks to this nugget of gold you dispensed.

and with that, good night
