Frustration

Maybe I’m not seeing the forest because of all of the darn trees but using Intaglio is a lesson in frustration. Could one of you set me straight. I’ve got to being doing something wrong, nothing should be this d… hard to use.

Case in Point:

Set Ruler #1 to a scale of 1 inch = 1 foot
Set Grid to 12 divisions per 1’ both in the horizontal and vertical direction.
Set Snap to Grid

Draw 4’ x 4’ square and the Geometry thingie lists delta X and delta Y as 4.042’ each. No movement of the mouse will get it to land on 4’ for both.

Draw a 3’ x 1’ rectangle and the Geometry thingie lists delta X as 3’ and delta Y as 3.176’ and no matter how much changing is done I can’t get it to stick to 3’ x 1’.

Holding the Shift key down while dragging to form the drawings does not cause it to snap to grid.

What in the H… is going on, Please???

I can’t recreate your problem. When I set the scale and grid as you describe I get sizes that increment by 0.083 feet (i.e., one inch) at a time. Can you send me a file containing the problem to nick (at) purgatorydesign.com?

Nick,

I tried getting you a file but NOW it’s working find… and I was NOT on the sauce today (I gave that up 15 years ago).

If it acts up again I’ll send you the file.

thanks, Ray
