Gig Diary

Hi all
I’m a relatively new freeway user so go easy with any responses.
I’m a semi-pro singer and want to create a gig list page in my freeway site that i can edit from an external file (xml?) and that is intelligent enough to remove the gig from the list once the date has passed.
Also i wanted to create a box on my home page that will display upcoming gigs (say the next five) and again be intelligent enough to remove the gigs as the dates pass without me continually having to edit the page in freeway every week.
Is this possible in freeway and if so how would i go about it?

Many thanks in advance

I’m not qualified to answer your question. But, it is a good one and not limited to singers or gig lists. My question back to you is, I wonder if some kind of blogging solution would better meet your needs. They are very date driven and have an archive feature built in that might be useful to you.

I know it’s not much, but I hope it helps.

Thanks for your response Doty.
Maybe a blogging solution would work but on further reading i think it maybe a database i need with a script to pull entries from the database (ie five gigs on the front page then the full list on the gigs page). If anyone has any ideas on how i can do this then i’d welcome them with open arms. I’ve had a MySQL guest book running on my old site and i’m sure a gig list would work in a similar fashion.
