Gradient on top of the page

After so many years … noob question … shame on me. :o)

I need a gradient on top of the page. About 7 cm in height.

  • From red to yellow
  • Page background should be yellow

It does’nt work with horizontal background patterns cause the red repeats (beneath the picture size) on the food of course.

Question: How can I set a gradient on top of the page over the whole screen (not just the page size) – even if its an iMac zillion pixel screen resolution…

Make a gradient in for example Photoshop on a transparent background. Crop this to 1px wide. Save for web and save as PNG with transparency. Make this a background image in FW and set horizontal to next to each other and vertical to top.

I would recommend at least 25px wide by whatever height. There’s a
real browser memory problem with repeating a 1px slice in either
direction. Otherwise, all this is exactly how I would do it.

Thanks for this info. Never noticed this, but always better to prevent than to get informed that there is something wrong.
