Guru Wanted

So that I can focus more on design (or in the event I take on more than a few website projects a month) I have been
considering using html xhtml css coders. The problem is that I wouldn’t be able to use Freeway to tweak pages,
or create a simple page based on another page, so I would have to rely on the coders (probably
Dreamweaver users) for everything.

I was wondering if there is Freeway “expert” who would be able to provide services for a workflow based on the two scenarios below, and what the rate might be:

SCENARIO ONE:

  1. I provide a design layout (PDF or jpeg).
  2. Freeway guru expert creates a Freeway site based on layout
  3. I would be able edit the file (revisions, additions)
  4. The Freeway guru, if necessary, reviews the site or makes changes.
  5. Freeway guru could make changes in future (hourly rate for changes?)

SCENARIO TWO:

  1. I have the basic layout of the site already created in Freeway Pro.
  2. Freeway guru checks it over to make sure that it is using good html/css practices, adjust the file (if necessary) and applies various actions/effects/etc. (Basically, makes sure it’s in “tip-top”’ shape.)
  3. Freeway guru could make changes in future (hourly rate for changes?)

Basically, what I’m looking for is to still retain some control of the site for design purposes, but without all the stress of creating a “perfect” site (good/css practice, keeping up-to-date on all the actions, effects, etc. and how to use them).

Here’s an example of a recent site I designed and created in Freeway Pro 5: http://www.fonsecadesign.com/IML08/.

If the next site takes me as long as it did for this site, I’m operating at a -100% profitability. Yikes!

Yes I think there is a demand for this. Fwy is great for getting 90% of the way but it then takes 90% of the time to go the last 10% and deal with all the things that go wrong along the way!

Hi, Rebecca –

The best Gurus on Freeway Talk (other than the folks who work at Softpress) are Walt and Keith. If you entered a forum requesting their attention (by mentioning their names in the subject line), I bet you’d hear from them.

Good luck.

Exactly Rob, very well said!

I’d love to help, but I’m so busy these days that I can’t really
afford to take time out to help someone ‘offline’. Well, not unless
it was part of a bigger plan.
