I found this? Talks about Migrating to version 1.1 today.

Can we do this?

Chirp as an application is dead. I noted this on the list months ago, when Chirp posted a warning to their site that they would not be able to support the new Twitter API.

The new API was written by Twitter to restrict third parties from doing what Chirp did – accessing the feed without opening a keyhole back to Twitter Global Domination Headquarters through which your visitors could be spied upon. You are always welcome (in Twitter’s mind) to use their widget, which is fairly attractive, and relatively easy to create and add to your site (a single Markup Item with a blodge of JS inside should do the trick). The hook that’s buried in that tasty bit of bait is that anyone visiting your site can be tracked by Twitter if they have ever visited any of the Twitter sites (and thus have a cookie from them).

You can’t stop this at all, so your choice is quite starkly between customer privacy and flashy Twitter feed. There’s no gray areas to hide in here.
