I could manage some problems but others appeared. maybe you can help me out. If you click on the items there will appear a ligthbox. but not just one…two.
I don’t know how to fix this problem and alle the problems with the proportions on my site.
Maybe you could help me out, that would be nice.

You have two different lightbox scripts on the same page. You’ve
applied the ScriptyLightbox Action to the page and you have also added
the lightbox.js script in the head of the page (apparently by hand).
I’m amazed that they both work together like this, but hey, that’s the
magic of JavaScript, right? Choose one or the other, and throw the
other one out. Look in the Page / HTML Markup dialog, choosing Before /
head from the picker at the bottom-left of that dialog. I bet you’ll
find some script there that isn’t part of ScriptyLightbox.

hi walter,
thanks, everything all right now.
But I have another problem.
I cannot find my site anymore with all the html sites and and resources.
I can open it and everything is on the freewayprogram but if I publish it via filezilla, I cannot find my html sites anymore, or they have another content as the sites in the freeway document.
If I try to upload my site via file/upload then an error disappeares that the file or folder cannot be accessed.
What happened.?could you please help me.
Can I resave it with another name properly somewhere else?
How?

thanks

Try this. Open your File / Document Setup dialog, and move to the
Output tab. In the middle of the dialog, there’s a button that lets
you choose your Site Folder. This is the folder on your Mac where
Freeway will publish the file for you. Set this to a new, empty
folder. Publish. Now your site folder will only contain this one site.

Next, to sort out the issue with your Upload from within Freeway –
take a look at FileZilla when you are connected to your site. There is
probably a highest level that you can go, maybe a folder named for
your user account. One level below that, there is probably a folder
named htdocs or public_html or www or something like that. That’s the
folder you put all your files in.

Now in Freeway’s Upload dialog, you’ll see some fields where you enter
the name of your server, the Directory, and the username and password.
That Directory field is where you want to add the name of this folder
that you can see in your FTP app. (It’s a bit like playing Battleship,
because Freeway doesn’t let you see the contents of the folder, so you
don’t know when you’ve got it right.)

Keep trying until it works, because the integrated upload in Freeway
is one of its big selling points. Once you complete one upload all the
way through from within Freeway, all subsequent uploads will only send
changed files, and will delete any files you removed from your site
within Freeway from your server, saving you file space.

Hi walter,
thanks for the quick response.
If I open the document setup there are some weird things. The size of my page has 960x720 although I chose 1024x756 px.
Do you mean the site search for the site folder within the document button? Should I just make a new folder on my desktop?
Also in “output” I do not understand everything. the line feed is marked on Unix not on macintosh. Is that right?
And what should I tip in the directory field in the upload button?
It is weird, I checked it again. Freeway is saving pages which I deleted some days ago.
And I do not understand why the content from the freeway document is another than it is published.

If you have more than one Freeway document publishing into the same
folder, you can end up with what you describe. That’s why I urge you
to set this document to publish into a new folder somewhere else.
Starting with a blank slate will make everything so much more
understandable.

Okay, this will (hopefully) teach me not to give advice without
looking at the application first. The Site Folder picker is actually
on the Document tab, not the Output tab. So that’s part of the
confusion there. It’s a button, you press it and it will open a
standard file dialog where you can navigate to create a new folder
somewhere else that you choose.

Second, on the same Document tab, the size you see set there is
whatever the default for the site is (one Freeway document = one
entire site, lots of pages, hopefully they look similar so people
don’t run screaming). Whatever you set when you start the document (or
whatever the template was set to when you chose it) will drive the
size of each page that you add to your site from that point on.

Within the Inspector on each separate page, you can change the
individual page dimensions to anything you like. It will only affect
that one page. And if you change the preset on the Document tab of the
Document Setup dialog, then that will change every NEW page you make
after you make that change. Changes to this setting are like changing
the assembly line at the Ford plant. All the Explorers that already
rolled out the door are not suddenly the new model.

Next, on the Output tab, you should leave the following settings as
such: HTML code: more readable. Line feeds: Unix (unless you have a
specific and particular need for a different line-feed format, this is
the global standard). Resources: Separate Resource Folders. File
names: Unix/Windows. The others you are free to fiddle with, although
the defaults are probably a great place to stay until you get a little
more experience with the production side of the Web.

I am sorry, dont wanna annoy you, but I really cannot come along with that program. of course i am just a beginner.
But now. hardly any site is still in my sitefolder. IN the research folder everything is in, but if I load it up hardy anything is to see.
I dont know where all these content of my portfolio folder went. Since I loaded up everything yesterdaymorning, i didnt open anything. Thus I am pretty sure, that I did not delete anything.
Ever though I can see everything in freeway. Every single site. but it is not saved on the place where it was before.
could you please help me out?
thanks

I tried to save my document in a new folder, like you instructed me above.
But nothing happens. the new folder is still empty.
If I open freeway everything is on its place. but nowhere on my mac I can find the single html pages.
I really don’t know what to do.

When you open a Freeway document and save it on your hard disk somewhere, you are saving a single monolithic file which is not your site. It is more like the recipe for your site, in exactly the same way that a Word file is not the pieces of paper that come out of the printer when you print that document.

Freeway “prints” web sites to a separate folder on your hard drive. This folder is chosen through the dialog I outlined earlier. To extend the current metaphor, this is like choosing a printer in the Print dialog. Until you publish (which even uses the Print keyboard shortcut), the site files won’t exist anywhere except as the instructions to make them in the Freeway document. There are no pages until you “print” them out.

Further to this, if you make a change to one or more pages in Freeway, but don’t invoke the Publish command again, those changes will not be made to the site files on your hard disk. And if you do Publish, but don’t Upload, then the site the public sees will not change. So for each page on your site, there exist up to three separate versions: the Freeway document, which is the instructions for making that page, as well as a visual interface for creating and editing those instructions; the copy of the site that Freeway most recently generated, which may not be as recent as the first instance; and whatever version is uploaded to your server, which could be yet another generation behind that.

Once you have chosen a new site folder for your document, and
published that document within Freeway into that new site folder, the
next step would be either to use Filezilla or Freeway itself to upload
the entire contents of that site folder into your server space.

Step through the following, and see if you can get these to work for
you:

  1. Open the Freeway document. Click on the various pages listed in the
left pane of the main window, and make sure that all of your pages are
there. You should have one Freeway document containing as many pages
as you want to have in your site. One document = one site.

  2. Open the File / Document Setup dialog, and click on the Site Folder
button. Use the File dialog that opens to navigate to your Documents
folder in your user account. This folder will be listed on the left
pane of the dialog, as one of the shortcuts available to you. Once you
see the Documents folder listed in the right pane, click on the New
Folder button in the lower left corner of the File dialog, and enter a
name for your new Site Folder. Let’s call it MySite. Okay out of the
dialog. You should see the word MySite displayed in the Document Setup
dialog near the Site Folder button. Okay the Document Setup dialog.

  3. At this point, if you were to click on the Desktop and open a
Finder window, you could click on your Documents folder shortcut in
that Finder window, and navigate to see the folder MySite. It should
be empty. This folder is canonically located at /Users/[yourname]/
    Documents/MySite.

  4. Back in Freeway, choose File / Publish from the main menu. You may
see a progress dialog appear on screen, depending on the size of your
site. If you want to check the results, use the File / Preview in
Browser / Safari option in the main menu. You should be able to see
    and navigate your entire site.

  5. In FileZilla, open up a new connection to your server. In the left
(Local Site) pane, navigate to the folder you created in step 3. You
should see the entire list of pages and a Resources folder containing
your graphics and other external resources within that folder.
Everything your site needs to display should be contained within the
MySite folder in your Documents folder.

Transfer the entire contents of this folder into your server’s
‘public_html’ or ‘htdocs’ or whatever your server administrator has
decided the “web files folder” is named. Visit the public URL, and you
should see the same site that you previewed in step 4.

Hope this helps. If English is not your native language, please ask
again in that language, and one of our many international members may
be able to help you more clearly than I.

Remember that if you are using a FTP app like FileZilla then you may well want to clear out (delete) what is already on the server so that there are no ‘old’ pages/resources left behind.

The advantage of using FW’s built in upload feature is that this is all done for you and you dont have to remember what is old and what is new.

Hi,
thank you a lot. all of you.
For the first step, I am ok with how it looks like currently.
check it out. constanzebuckenlei.de
But I want to go further next week.
I really want to make a kind of a rollover on the page of the waterconsumption, because nobody realises that all the pictures are buttons to click on for further informations.
If you have an idea how to make it, that would be really nice to know.
I figured out that a rollover not works because of the java script.( there is allready a lightbox added to these graphics).

Greetings
Constanze
