Hi all. I am in the process of changing to another hosting company. as my current one is often down.
What would be the best/most reliable hosting company? I was thinking of using GoDaddy as their prices seem to be good.
Regards

Anyone but GoDaddy would be my first response. If you’re in the UK,
though, I would recommend Vidahost https://www.vidahost.com or Clook <
http://www.clook.net >. (I switched from Clook to Vidahost about a year ago
as they offered more space for the price but both have been totally
reliable with first class support.)

Take a look at Reviewpon: http://www.reviewpon.com . I’ve chatted with the fellow who runs it and it’s probably the only host review website that you can trust.
Right now I’m using GJX hosting and am quite happy with it, but I’ve used A Small Orange in the past and have been super happy with their support.
I would stay away from GoDaddy. If you search this forum you will find that there are several instances of GoDaddy wreaking havoc on a persons website. There is a reason why they are cheap.

I have heard good things about A Small Orange.
Currently I have reseller account with MDD Hosting - http://www.mddhosting.com .
Great customer service and fast to respond to any support tickets.
Another option is Mac Highway - http://www.machighway.com
Cheers

I forgot to ask; I know Mac Highway uses CPanel. Does Fatcow or InMotion use CPanel?

I’m pretty sure FatCow uses Plesk. InMotion uses cPanel, I believe.

Thanks, I just want to stick with CPanel as I am familiar with it.
I spoke to Penny at MacHighway and she said they use CPanel.
My biggest stress is having to tell my old company I am leaving and trying to shift my 14 sites over!

FatCow uses their own Control Panel but I’ve read it’s Plesk-like. It’s way easier to navigate than GoDaddy.

Your new host should handle the migration without you having to do
anything.

That’s what I thought - well, their About Page still say that they are in Denver

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but was wondering if anyone knows of any other independent hosting comparison websites as I can’t get http://www.reviewpon.com/ to work any more and it was great for good honest advice.

Yeah, it looks like Reviewpon bit the dust.
Another review site that looks honest (and whose results match my thoughts) is https://www.reviewhell.com
