Hosting services where PHP Form works on virtual domains sites

Hi all. Has anyone experienced or used a hosting site that allows the PHP Form mailer to work with virtual domains sites? As in godaddy where you have your primary domain hosted, and you can have multiple sites within your primary, PHP Form mailer scripts simply breaks. Any tips and ideas, greatly appreciated… thank you.

Any “normal” hosting provider should work for this. GoDaddy is an
extreme outlier in this regard, to the point where I actively
discourage anyone from using them for anything. (That, and their taste
level is sub-Wal-mart IMNSHO.)

Known good hosts I have used, again in my not so humble opinion:

  • Dreamhost
  • MediaTemple
  • Modwest
  • Rackspace
  • RimuHosting
  • Joyent
  • SliceHost

The first four on this list are the most “normal” of the bunch, with
cPanel or cPanel-like control panels. Rimu and Joyent have a different
control panel, but it’s still there. Definitely requires more know-how
to configure and use.

SliceHost is a “bare metal” VPS (virtual private server) and you get
it without any operating system or servers installed. Choose your
favorite OS in their control panel, and then you’re off to your secure
shell to do all the config through the command-line. Not for the faint
of heart, but oh-so-necessary for the type of high-end stuff I often
build.

Anywhere but GD for hosting!

Just make sure they are using an ix/ux server and support recent flavours of PHP.

Thanks for the tips Walt. I used to use Verio VPS for all our servers in my old job. Shell config years ago, cl. I just don’t want to deal with that kind of stuff anymore.

Yeah GD is a bear, none of my old php script would work on their virtual servers…

Thanks David. Yes, back when we had a choice for UNIX servers, I always selected that. Nowadays all I see is Linux which is fine, but not with GD…gonna migrate when the opportunity comes.
