how better loading background image in internet explorer?

Hallo,
Is there anyone who knows who i can load better (faster) the background image in internet explorer on my site?
web.me.com/kristof.allaert/KALEO

I explain:
I’ve add the javascript action protaculous (prototype-packed) to my pages, in most browers this works perfect but by switching the pages in IE, you get first the background colour and than than the background image…it looks not very “clean” Is there a way to solve this in the script and let the background image stay the whole time?

Or are there other solutions to fix this problem?

Hi Kristof,
I’m assuming when you say the background image you are talking about
the circle graphic that sits behind the text?
Looking at your site I can see that these aren’t background images at
all and differ between pages. For example;

http://web.me.com/kristof.allaert/KALEO/Resources/def3a1a1a1aa.jpeg
http://web.me.com/kristof.allaert/KALEO/Resources/wittebold.jpeg

Try and consolidate these down into a single image that you can use in
all of the pages. The flickering to mention is because the browser is
having to load a new image for each page. Once loaded any subsequent
pages will simply used the cached version of the image and should load
almost instantly.

Thanks Tim for the suggestion,

I tried to do what you said
(you can see it in this page - the image is not still perfect but you can see already how it should work: web.me.com/kristof.allaert/KALEO/wieiswieb.html),
The image is centered in the middle horizontally, and above vertically

but i have still an new problem with this:

The problem I have is when I resize the browser window (horizontally) when testing it the background graphic moves up or down with the size of the browser window while all the content stays in place.

What I want to achieve is the background to stay in the same place whenever the browser window is re-sized.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this?
