How do I add description to H1 tags?

Hi, gang.

I know I can add descriptions to the meta tags and the alt tags. Is there a way to add descriptions to the H1 tags?

Hi Jamie –

I am unsure of what you are trying to achieve… Meta tags hold information for search engines, and Alt tags hold information for accessibility situations. Header tags are themselves naturally identifiable in both situations by means of their structure (h1,h2, etc.) They need no other elements to identify them. They are naturally semantic.

The trick with page semantics (from my simplified view) is to think of your page in outline format. The topic heads are distinguished by Header tags which are then ordered by their value – 1, 2, 3, etc.
