how is this done??

Looking at my site and the great comments I might be looking at a
total revamp…

and looking at different ideas

I came across another freeway website and love the walking baby.

can anyone tell me how this is done in freeway or is it a flash thing?

thank you

Julie

Hi Julie, It’s a Flash thing.

The first thing I do when trying to work out what was used to create a particular effect is to “View > View Source” in Safari, or in Firefox “View > Page Source”. A quick scan through the code and you can usually find out whether Flas has been used or not by looking out for files used ending in “.swf”.

Hope that helps,

Craig

If you right click on the ‘baby’ you get the Flash control pop-up,
which gives you your answer.

Don’t be disheartened by some of the comments I have seen made on your
site. Everyone has to learn and the best way is by doing and asking
for criticism. You have the right ideas - execution will improve with
practice, but my overall message is look though your site pages and
avoid overlapping content, make overlaid information more distinct
(perhaps using a border or translucent background) and, if you can
give a little more depth to that tree, it would make a dramatic and
more professional improvement to the site than the current (in my
opinion) rather anaemic version, which i appreciate you may have
inherited.

Even the simplest of drawing programmes would help you add a little
shading or gradients to give a more ‘rounded’ look. I’m lucky enough
to have Adobe Creative Suite, but that’s expensive and overkill for
what you do at he moment (…but who knows, in the future), so start
first with something less demanding. The Softpress store offers
Intaglio, which I haven’t used, but which looks very capable at $75 or
you can ‘Google’ for an open source application that may be free. For
photo image manipulation try GIMP (free) or take a look at the very
useful Graphic Converter (c. $35).

Explore! If you find something that looks right for you, you can
always ask if any other Freeway users have tried it, before you commit.

I also have cs3 and intaglio. I will play with it a bit in illistrator.

I have been playing with intaglo but really unsure… if anyone has
some simple directions or tutorials for this I would appreciate it…
