when one ssets up a link between a text and a page or image the text changes color and becomes underlined. my question is: how to change it? changing its color seems easy enough but i could not find a way to get rid of the underline.

With nothing selected on your page, ook at the links section of the page inspector (under the paintbrush icon)
You will see your 4 states Normal, Visited, Hover and Active and to the right of each of these is an U icon
Clicking this will toggle between the underline off and on - there are actually more than off and on - I think the first click turns it off but try it.

There is another action ‘Text Link Style’ that can be applied to an HTML container in which your linked text is.
This means that certain links on a page can different behaviour from that set in the previous method. It also has a much more obvious Underline selector.
