How to control background immage CSS Menu

Why is it so hard to control the background image in CSS menu?
I end up adding a patch on the end, because even though the size is 650 same as the page it falls short no matter what I do.
Does anybody know how to make image fill the whole CSS menu bar.

Thanks in advance

The image can be tiled in the menu, and if I recall correctly from
your site you have he perfect image for tiling (a gradient from top to
bottom).

To do this make sure that repeat xy (horizontal and vertical), or x
(horizontal) is selected in the dropdown menu. You can choose a color
too if you like, it will sit behind the image and can for instance be
the same as the top color in your gradient. This means if you position
the image in the bottom left the top color will appear to continue if
the text size of the page is increased (or vice versa with the
opposite to that).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response, I can’t seem to get it to work.
No matter what I do the image (or the color) won’t fill the background, it seems to be related to “em’s”.

I have a crazy number now: 5.1243751047 and still short a few pixels, and if I put an 8 at the end it splits into 2 rows??

And it doesn’t matter how wide I make the item.

Thanks again
