Installed, Action ticked but still does not show in Actions menu as with Marcus above. Also I installed the iFrame action after the HTML video action and that came up in the menu listing and works no problem.
I am running Freeway 5.5 Pro (version 5.6.4) on an iMac i7 3.4GHz running Lion OSX 10.7.3 .
That action was built by Walter. Maybe he could help us to find the solution for this. Could that be another action that is conflicting with html5 video? I will send him an email.
I didn’t make the HTML 5 Video Action, I did the SublimePlayer Action. Similar, but not at all the same.

Oh, sorry Walter. I thought you built it. Anyway, it’s good to talk to you. I will try the SublimePlayer Action. Maybe it could help me. I have a flash “sfw” extension video on a website and my client wants me to update it to html5 so it can be viewed in an iPad or iPhone.
I though that converting this to flv would also help me right?
No. FLV is only playable in a Flash environment. It’s technically just MP4 video, but when it has the FLV file-type, it’s only playable with a SWF player.
If you convert the video to MP4 format, you can use Sublime Player or the Softpress HTML5 Video Action.

I have something weird going on on my FW. I installed the HTML5 action and even though its ticked, I can’t see it in actions. Now, I installed the sublimePlayer Action and for my surprise, I have the same problem…Can’t see the action anywhere. I went to edit>actions and it’s ticked but action does not show on menu…
All Freeway Actions are contextually-aware. In the case of Sublime, it’s designed to be applied to a graphic box (so you have to have one currently selected before it will show up in the Item / Actions menu) and it only works on XHTML pages, so your page must be set to XHTML Strict or Transitional in the Page Inspector’s Output tab. If both of these conditions aren’t met, you just won’t see the Action at all.

To see the action you have to draw an html box, import your video (File/import), then with the html box containing your video go to Item/Actions and HTML5 Video will be in list there. Phew!
Thanks Walter, I finally could find the problem. One quick question: If I make a Flash animation interactive like the link bellow where elements change with the click of a mouse, after converting them in HTML5 using HTML5 or Sublime will it still interactive?
Flash cannot be played using this system. If you want to convert Flash into a good Internet citizen, look at Hype. Most anything you can make in Flash can be re-made so it will play on more devices (read iOS devices) using HTML5 and JavaScript. That’s what Hype makes, and there’s an Action to include it in your Freeway layout.

Is Adobe Edge similar to Hype in the way they work? I downloaded a version of this a couple of months ago, but haven’t take the time to analyze it even don’t know the way to integrate a file generated by Edge, if there are any, but if Hype has its own action on Freeway I think it will be easier, right?
Yes, they seem to be after the same thing. Adobe has another application called (or code-named) Wallaby that I saw a presentation on earlier this year. It opens a Flash animation and converts it to open standards, more or less automatically. Like anything that promises that big, I can only imagine that you will find that it does 80% of what you need, and the last 20 is either impossible or harder than coding the thing from scratch in Hype.

Thank you Walter. I bought the Hype but didn’t have the time to play yet, but will do it soon.
Is there also a way to integrate an animation created with Edge in Freeway. I imagine that in order to do this we need a little code, right?

I don’t know, I haven’t seen or used Edge. It probably writes a blob of HTML + JS + CSS, so it should be possible to integrate with Freeway, even if you have to dip into the various Markup dialogs to do so.
