html5 video poster frame

Hi…

I’m a Freeway 5.5 Pro, intermediate user. I’ve struggled a bit with video on my sites. Up until recently I was using Flash only, but obviously that was leaving out all the iOS devices.

Now I’m successfully using the html 5 action, and the movies are playing well on most browsers, with a fall back to the Flash flow player for others.

The problem is, with the html5 action, there’s no place to specify a (hopefully clickable) poster frame. I’m getting around this by having a single frame at the beginning of the movie, but it’s not ideal and its not clickable.

I know the syntax for html5 video is something like "poster=“image.jpg” but I can’t successfully add it to the movie in Freeway. I tried using the “extended” field, but no success.

has anyone successfully implemented html5 video in Pro 5.5 with a poster frame? How did you do it?

Thanks

Thanks Walter. I did look at Sublime, although I didn’t really get deeply into your action for it.

I’ve gotten this far without subscribing to any services, or paying anyone to host or display the video on my sites. I’d hate to change that just for a poster frame.

I think I would stay with my cheesy workaround of a still frame cut into the start of the movie.

I’m really hoping there’s a place I can enter the “poster” tag into my html and have it work.
