hyperlink rollover

hello,

I’m having some hyperlinks and i want to create a rollover. But it seems too long to have to do it with the rollover action. Is there a way to have a general rollover for all my hyperlinks?

What kind of effect are you trying to achieve? Can you provide a link to an
example of what you are trying to achieve?

In this page, for example (created with iWeb): http://www.architecte-a.com/PETITE-ENFANCE/Architecte-A/Bienvenue/Bienvenue.html the titles change the color when mouseover. In iWeb, there’s an option about this, by just selecting the text and choosing the rollover, and it’s very fast. Is this possible in freeway, or do i have to create 2 graphic boxes anytime i want a hyperlink?

If your hyperlinks are graphics, then yes I would imagine that a second
graphic would be needed to replace the first.

Is there any reason you’re not using text for your hyperlinks? Creating a
different color state for your non-graphic text hyperlinks is, I would
imagine, a much easier process. Using the Links palette with nothing on the
page selected sets the link state colors for link text on the whole page.
When a layered html box is selected, the it will set the link state
colors/styles for text links in that specific box.

Best wishes,

Exactly. Also, it is completely straightforward* to create a graphic-like rollover (with colored bounding-box, no underline, etc.) for truly button-like effects, all without any images needed.

*I realize that writing or copying CSS into Freeway can be a little frustrating in places, but I would consider using graphics for this to be a serious last resort. The example you linked to is simply using text color changes, nothing too fancy there, well within the realm of Freeway’s Link Style tools.

Thanks for your answer. In fact, I want to use text for my hyperlink, but i’m not finding how to do it.
For example, I have some text in a box, and I want to create a hyperlink only for a word in this text. And I would want the rollover only for this word.

Is this possible?

Are you planning to have other hyperlinks in the same HTML box? If so, then you’ll need to be more specific in your style construction. But if the only links in this box are the ones you want to have the rollover effect, then you can simply select that box with a single-click (so the handles show at the corners and sides) and then look in the Style tab of the Inspector (paintbrush icon) in the Links segment (normally collapsed). There you will see some rudimentary styling tools, and a More… button. That will take you behind the looking-glass, where you can set all sorts of clever effects on each of the four cardinal states of a link.

If you want to recreate the example layout, where you have multiple rollover styles (different colors for each link) then you would either create a separate HTML box for each of the links (which would probably fit your layout better than my next suggestion) or you would need to create your link styles long-hand, using the Styles palette and the Tag-only Style technique. (This is specific to Freeway – it represents a back-door through which you can enter some seriously tweezer-level CSS without going all the way into hand-coding in the Page / HTML Markup dialog.)

Let me know, I can point you to some examples.
