I CANT OPEN FREEWAY 4 PRO IN MAC 10.6.8

I have just upgraded my old Powermac G5 which was running an operating system of Tiger from 2005 to a Macbook Pro running the latest OS 10.6.8. When I open my file it gives you a ‘Freeway 4 Pro quit unexpectedly’ pop up.

So I tried to open it in Freeway 5.5 Pro and the pop up says
‘This file was created with an older version of Freeway… Do you want to open it’ when u press ok another pop up comes up saying

‘Could not use font because ATSUI reports a font as bad. Check that you do not have a badly corrupted font in your fonts folder. (-26194:264:1470)’

How can I open this very important file that has my company website on it!!!???

Try continuing opening the file in 5.5 save as a copy. Then work through your styles to replace the font with a good font.

There are two options here, If you have upgraded to Freeway 5.5 then you’ll want to fix your fonts. Take a look at this KB article http://www.softpress.com/kb/questions/126/Freeway+crashes+when+opening#3 for instructions on how to find bad fonts.

If you would simply like to run Freeway 4 on your new machine then download the most recent version here http://download2.softpress.com/Freeway4Pro442.zip. If you do stick with Freeway 4 then you might still want to track down that bad font.

I hope this helps.

I managed to open the file quite easily, but when I went to view it in preview there were a lot of warnings of missing files and it’s plain to see the fonts have been disabled.

Regards the serial number you would have received one when you purchased Freeway - check under Softpress or Freeway in your finder. If you can’t find it on your Mac then go the Softpress website and the Knowledge Base, they tell you in the KB how to find the serial number.

Hope this helps you,

kind regards
Elizabeth

Yes - your file is fine. Opened OK in 10.6.8 for me.

It only shows as having Arial, Helvetica and Times in it though.

What else did you use?
