I have today a problem uploading web material, I get this error message.

I hope someone can help …

Hi Peter,

That seems to be saying you need to use FTPS (FTP over SSL) upload.

You can choose FTPS in Freeway’s Upload dialog.

If that doesn’t work for some reason (Freeway’s upload code is quite old now), you can upload your site by using the File Copy upload method to export it to a local folder, and then by using a third-party upload client (e.g. Cyberduck or Transmit) to synchronise this with your online folder. (Use the Synchronise command in Cyberduck or Transmit to do this.)

You could also try waiting a short while (e.g. 24 hours) to see if the problem sorts itself out.

Hi Jeremy,

Many thanks for your reply … I also approached my ISP [Clook] and they came back to say they had tightened-up the FTP uploading and we made a number of changes to the Freeway uploading, but to no avail …

As you said “File Copy Upload” then use CyberDuck to Sync the local folder with the server was an obvious way to go.

I will today make the changes to the site folder and CyberDuck and get it all working nicely again ;~}}

BTW I have been experimenting with Xway, but have not as yet updated NettlebedFolkClub.co.uk to use Xway.

Cheers Peter

Hi Jeremy,

I did make changes to the upload details with help from Clook and it all works fine again now.

I used “SFTP (SSH File Transfer)” and a new “Port” number.

I do love the simplicity of the direct [synced] Upload ;~}}

Thanks for your help

Cheers Peter

Glad it’s working now!
