I took a look at my site in progress in Windows XP IE6 via Parallels.
I knew it wouldn’t look as good as Safari or Firefox, but I was surprised that my HTML text (all trebuchet) is not even close and not fitting into the areas designated.
Any way to deal with this? I didn’t see anything specific in other threads about IE.
Yup, no line-height or “leading” in your CSS. In IE6 however it takes a long time to load things up. Your CSS-Menu doesn’t work until that “Quick Info” loads on the right. Takes like 10+ seconds before I can select any of the options. It also delays the banner loading just under the menu.
Also in IE6 your CSS menu’s sit under the Flash movie you have dropped in there. So essentially you can’t hit all the options or see what the last two are for the first two menu headers.
Perhaps it loads slow due to a 3.8MB SWF clip that has to be downloaded first.
Before you mention my line speed I’m on 8+ MB business cable internet.
Is it something specific (text-wise) that’s goofy?
The html text looks awful and doesn’t fit in the boxes properly. Also, all of the colors look very washed out.
I am not concerned with how quickly stuff is loading or functioning in IE6 right now. I would like it to look semi-close to what I see in Safari if at all possible.
