I posted this in the regular Freeway Talk and now think I should have posted this under the ActionsDev forum.
This has been a great action I’ve been using now for some time. In migrating some sites from FWP 5.5 to FWP 6 I noticed the class styling for the caption no longer seems to work. Don’t know if I’m missing something or if FWP 6 broke this in the action, everything else seems to work A-OK. Thanks in advance - Lewis
Must admit it isn’t an action I have given much thought to.
The action was written by Weaver so that makes it probably 6 years old and undeveloped for later versions of FW. Weaver hasn’t been around here since July 2010.
If I get a chance I will dig around in it but there are other far better action writers than me that could probably fix it if there was demand.
Hi David, thanks for the background on this action and offer to look at it when you get a chance. I use this a lot, or used to with FWP 5.5 and it makes it easy to caption and control captions on graphics. If there’s a newer/better action if anyone knows about, please let me know. If not, if someone can update this, that too would be most appreciated.
Hi David and all viewers of this thread. I am really embarrassed but in pouring through my settings of the website and this action, I found a tiny typo in the style class I was using which was why the formatting I wanted/expected didn’t work. So now it’s good and I am happy to report the Image captions action seems happy in FWP 6.x. I thought I had checked it carefully, but…
One problem I have run into, is that when trying to use Image Caption action in Backdraft, the excellent responsive layout design template from Caleb Grove, the action breaks the responsive design on smaller devices. I believe it interferes with the flexImage of the graphics containers. I don’t see a work-around other than not using it in Backdraft designs, at this point in time.
