How many of you still use meta Keywords for new projects?

I’m still using it for new work, mostly because I’m not sure how ignored it
is. Old habits?

Perhaps it’s time for me to let that go into the wastebin of history as
well.

Google has made it very clear where it stands. And when Yahoo (one of a few holdouts that still assigned high value to keywords) merged with Bing keywords became moot as well. Whatever search engines are left that still place value on keywords are mostly likely in the extreme minority. I haven’t used them for some time and haven’t regretted it. Maybe that will change but I’m not worried about it. Your mileage may vary.

Same as Todd. However, I do like to have a list of keywords handy while copyediting.

At the moment key words aren’t that important, but it actually does no harm to add them properly… Although just because they are out of favour at the moment by google, doesn’t mean they always will be, So my advise is add them but don’t spend to long on it.

I considered that point also but in the end I decided to not bother with them. It’s a gamble, sure, but a reasonable one for my needs.

Is it really a gamble? Search crawlers seem to be so sophisticated that I find it hard to believe that in the future they will allow us to manipulate them by clever tags?

There again, everything old IS new again!

No, probably not. I said it because it seems to be my luck that when I stop doing something that’s when it’ll become important again.

But really, I’m not worried about it.
