Just got a previously enjoyed MacBook! Other than that the iSight camera doesn’t seem to work (Photobooth says ‘no camera connected’) it looks well cared for, rather swish, Snow Leoparded and has a whopping 320gb drive.
I’m just setting up Mail, but having entered my account details Mail has now set off on an epic journey to download a year’s worth of email…errr…??
Can I tell Mail to download as of today but forget anything from the past?
Are you using POP or IMAP for your mail protocol? If it’s IMAP, then
you have to choose whether or not you want to have copies of your mail
cached locally. If you do, then it’s going to do this for a few hours/
days and then it will be done. I don’t think there is any way to tell
it to only start caching mail after a certain date, except to delete
that mail from the IMAP server.
If it’s POP, then all you have to do is check your mail with another
POP Mail application, and all of the mail will be downloaded to that
computer, and removed from the server.
