The main purpose of this release is to smooth some rough spots when using Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5), but there are also a few unrelated bug fixes such as better import of EPS and ClarisDraw files.

I’ve just tried 2.9.7 on my trusty OS X 10.3.9 system and it dies during startup:

Requirements:
As far as I know, you need at least 10.3.9 for PPC,
and 10.4.7 for Intel.
However, I think 10.4 is recommended for both systems.
(at least for some features)

Correct, all versions up to 2.9.6 have worked fine with OS X 10.3.9, the documentation says Intaglio works with 10.3.9 but with some missing feature. 2.9.7 crashes on startup, so whatever new feature is causing this needs to be made ‘missing’ on systems that don’t have the required library.
I’m certain Nick will fix this once he is aware of the problem.

There was a minor problem with the build of version 2.9.7 that prevented it from launching on 10.3.9. That has been corrected in the updated version 2.9.7.1 which is now available on the web site.

in the Intaglio/AboutIntaglio menu, the version number of 2.9.7.1 is
still 2.9.7 ! this can lead to some confusion…
