So I’m going through the initial setup for a Sony internet tv and I’m trying to connect to my wireless network via WPS on my Airport Extreme. The tv gave me a PIN with the following instruction:
“Please enter the PIN code above to your wireless router using your PC and select “Start” to continue.”
I think they may want you to use your web browser to access the router.
They should have some documentation to walk you through that… but I don’t
really know.

I can’t find any info specific to this hurdle. I tried connecting the laptop to the tv via ethernet and with Airport Utility open I don’t see anything relevant but there are so many geek network terms I wouldn’t know if I’m looking at the correct thing or not.
Frustrated.

I would have thought that there would be a setting within the TV itself to put in your wireless password - accessible through your remote control unit.
Laptop connection to TV should definitely not be necessary - not everyone has a computer to connect to the TV anyway.
Thanks Dave and Ernie, I finally got it. There were multiple options for connecting to the network so I just went through each one until I got it right.
