Hi Robert
I thought I would recount a little bit of history which I think people have probably forgotten, or more likely don’t know.
Back when Freeway 1 had only just been launched.
A small design agency in Surrey created (what was then) a massively ambitious and sophisticated site. It was at the time groundbreaking for its innovative use of colour, visual effects, integration of animation, sound and immersive photography. This site when launched went ballistic, and when I mean ballistic and I really do mean BIG.
Within a few days of launching, BT contacted the agency on numerous occasions to find out what was going on, because millions of people were hitting the site which was on their servers day after day and reality they were utterly unprepared. There were TV and newspapers people from all around the world ringing for interviews and within a few weeks it had been shown and talked about all around the world on TV, Radio and Newspapers. Nothing like it had been seen before and the response was unprecedented, and as I mentioned at the beginning the software responsible for successfully delivering it was Freeway.
I will never forget that Freeway delivered ‘absolutely’ what it promised when other software such as PageMil just… didn’t.
