Is there a fingering symbol for using a Thumb?

In many instances wrapping your thumb around the neck to fret the 6th or 5th string is necessary. Is there a symbol that can be inserted to indicate a Thumb on a particular string/fret?

Hi Mark,

Yes, you can use “T” for thumb:

  1. Choose Edit Fingering from the Box menu
  2. Click on the note whose fingering you want to edit (or press Tab to get to it)
  3. Press “T” or “t”

Here’s an A chord with a thumb on the sixth string:
