Java script error in Exhibeo

It always worked before, but now:

  1. It is timing out so cannot be previewed or published
  2. Java Script error each time

tried making fewer items in upload, won’t work with even just 5 items. I want captions to show as well.

Try removing the action and republish to see if the error persists.

If not then add the action back in and try again.

The # of items shouldn’t matter. If you are going to get a JS error it will happen before FW attempts to upload.

Removed, replaced, still no joy. It’s strange because I’ve been using exhibeo nearly daily updating a site, and now all of a sudden this is happening. I also closed freeway, closed exhibeo and reopened. All are running up to date.

Was it OK with the Exhibeo action removed?

It does publish with the exhibeo action removed on the new page.
It also publishes all other the pages that already have exhibeo. Here’s a link to ones that work:
http://dennisallwardt.com/gallery-sold.html

The new page I am making continually spawns the java error. I made a blank page with only the EXH action on it, still get error.

Then I would try re-exporting the Exhibeo files from Exhibeo and re-importing them into FW.

You may have a file corruption.

Well drat, that didn’t work either. Do you think maybe I should delete the whole EX app and download it again? Maybe I wore it out…

Create a totally New FW doc and try it there first.

I just discovered the problem. The caption feature just won’t work, it causes the Java Script error. I really wanted to use the captions, so I’m a bit bummed. It is working though without them.

Is it possible that you are using strange characters in your captions. Try it without anything funny in there.

If still an issue then email support(a)softpress.com and ask the question.

FYI, it was the $ sign that was causing the problem. Figure that! Now it publishes, but the header with the fixed caption doesn’t show. Still working options…

Captions will work if they are only used in the “description” area. They show up on the bottom left of the photo.

FYI, it was the $ sign

The $ sign is used in javascript to create or signify a function - obviously clashing with the actual JS used.

Yep, changed to: 1.00 US
Thank you again being a voice in the distance as I worked through this
