Leopard 10.5 install disc?

I know some of you are involved in MUGs etc and might know someone who is willing to part with a 10.5 install disc.

I am looking for a standalone retail version (not hardware specific) so if anybody can help me out (UK based) I would be grateful.

I am willing to pay a reasonable sum.

Contact email address at the People part - beware of the BoxTrapper!

Here’s something you may not have considered: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mac-OS-X-Leopard-Genuine-Installation-Disc-10-5-/320666318326?pt=UK_Computing_Software_Software_SR&hash=item4aa933b5f6#ht_500wt_989

I’ve got one here, but the FedEx from USA would cost you more than this.

Hi Walter

Yes I did have a look at Ebay - and am saving that as a last resort.

I have had one kind offer so far - and that may well be all it takes.

The plan is to install 10.5 on a goose neck iMac so that a friend’s boy can sync his Touch without having to bug his big brother and sister to get access to either of their MacBooks.

As this install is NOT recommended I didn’t want to fork out too much in case it goes belly up.

I thought that I had a version myself but it turns out I only have the one that came with my iMac 27 and that sure aint gonna work.

If other folk are like me then they hang on to the old discs even after upgrading without any contemplation of going back. And so I am sure there are a few folk out there that have copies.

The one you pointed out is the upgrade version and I wanted to give myself the maximum chance of it working by using a standalone version.

BTW - the unread counts for OT isn’t working for me either - Dynamo is!

Just to say thank you to all who offered assistance with this and to let youn know that the iMac G4 700Mhz in question is now happily running Leopard.

It isn’t going to be any sort of speed freak but will make a young lad happy that he has his own machine to Sync his Touch to.

As an aside I am typing this on my new Zagg Mate bluetooth keyboard/shell case and I am very impressed so far.

Zagg Mate bluetooth keyboard/shell case

I should add, for those unfamiliar with it, that it is designed for iPad users.

And no - I have no intention of getting an iPad2 in the near future as this one is not 12 months old yet!
