Lightboxes Galore

I’ve been searching around the net for various types of lightboxes, as alternative to that used in Pulse. Which I find is rather slow to load thumbnails. Actually trying Fancybox out at the moment.

Anyway, thought folks might like to know I’ve just come across this, having searched around for ages (typical): The Lightbox Clones Matrix « planetOzh via here: http://www.julian-young.com/2010/09/18/the-best-javascript-lightbox/

Spoilt for choice now.

Wow that’s quite a list. Thanks for the link.

I’d be really grateful if one of our great ‘action-eers’ could turn one of the more modern lightboxes into a fully-featured action.

I have been using Weaver’s excellent Lightbox action but as it is now unsupported I’m looking for a replacement.

The features I’m looking for include the option of adding a caption, grouping images together or using a folder of images, adding extra images to the slideshow and selecting the colour of the background when images are shown. Maybe even the option to have all the images ‘play’ as a slideshow as well?

Unfortunately Walter’s otherwise excellent Scripty Lightboxes miss out on many of these features.

All the best

Gordon

Just to be as comprehensive as possible, here are some more: http://www.opensourcehunter.com/2010/06/25/40-javascript-lightbox-scriptsincluded-jquery-and-mootools/

Agree with Gordon, it would be interesting to see FW’s actions were appropriate becoming more modular or full featured. I also think, for better or worse cms will feature more heavily in the future.

Right now I could do with a good looking cms gallery that allows for ordering the sequence of images and can accommodate other media.
