lines widths and arrows

What should I do to be able to constantly draw rectangles with let’s say 2mm stroke while having the dimension drawn with 1mm stroke and with the arrows ?

Usually I press “r” for rectangle, choose 2mm stroke and choose no arrows, then draw a rectangle,

now when I press “d” for dimensions, set the arrows on and stroke to 1mm, then I draw dimensions for this first rectangle,

then I need to draw another rectangle but it is drawn with 1mm and arrows till I change the stroke for the rectangle again. And again and again every time I want to use a different tool… aaargh!!! →
How to separate those two strokes?
How to set the line strokes and arrows SEPARATELY ??
Do you have any clue?

How to set the line strokes and arrows SEPARATELY ??

You simply can´t, neither Inkscape can nor iDraw or any other vektor-drawing app I know.
Intaglio isn´t a technically drawing suite, maybe try free SketchUp or DraftSight.

I for myself separate drawing from labeling in Intaglio and use the Window-“geometry”-tab to get the right dimension in first place.

Cheers

Thank you Frank  Now I still believe that I am not that old as it seemed to

So: I draw first, dimensioning by simply looking at what geometry tells me and then I draw in all the dimension lines later. This is what I am used to.

But this is a bit of hell and I get frustrated every time I do it

Seems that I will finally have to switch to qcad…
