Link page pix to NEW page

I have an action applied to a small pix in a table. When I roll over the pix, it goes to another page with a larger pix, which is what I want. However, it does NOT open a NEW tab/page…I have the ‘link to new window’ action activated.

What am I doing wrong?

I’d also like to add a ‘close’ box to the pix. Is there an action for this or do I have to add a link back to the originating page?

Thanks.

This example http://www.deltadzine.net/test/caption.html has a rollover applied to an image set to Click activate a Target show/hide layer (bigger image).

The new layer has a Close box which also has a Rollover set on Click to hide the same layer.

Lo again DD.

I misspoke (again). I tried FireFox and it works fine. Safari doesn’t honor the new page action of Freeway… you have to do a cmd-click to have the action function properly (open a new page/tab).

Thanks for the rollover / close box link.

How did you do that? (the deltadzine.net) thing?

What did you do besides the action? Do you just link the rollover graphic to another (larger) image? or what? How’d you get the ‘close’ box graphic in there?

What version of FW do you have - it may be easier if you have an example to dissect but I can’t do it until later.

In the meantime attach the rollover action to your small graphic - set to items onclick and the default indigo 1

Draw a new graphic item - make sure it is a layer - apply the Target show/hide layer action to it and set it to initially hidden. Make sure the group and number match ie Indigo 1 and position it on the page where you want it to appear.

Draw another graphic layer with the text in it as gif. Apply the same Target show/hide with the same settings as the other and position over the other.

Also apply the Rollover action to it and set it on click to hide the layers

If you want to wait for the FW file please let me know what version.

I have FW Pro 5.4.4

I’ll wait for the file as I’m a show and tell learner (on a good day that is)…

What I was hoping to be able to do was to have a small image on a table page when rolled over, it would display the same image but in a much larger, higher quality way. Currently I’m linking to another html page with the larger one in it…

If not doable, how would you do a link to just the larger image on a page that’s sized to that image? i.e., just the graphic by itself, and not embedded into a separate html page.

Here’s the page that I’m fooling around with. I have two items currently linked to secondary html pages with larger pix on them. The coal tipple and coal tower are the only two active rollovers so far.

I presume you mean 5.5.4 - no problem.

I will do an example using your images.

DeltaDave:

WOW! Fantastic… Is it possible to make the secondary images any larger? How do I implement? Also, not so sure I want a ‘close’ box on the secondary image.

THANKS!

It is as simple as scaling the image in the box to suit and resizing the box to fit a larger image.

Thanks tons Dave… What do I owe you?

Not sure whether client will go for this (I do!)… v. linking to a separate html page with the image on it.

This certainly streamlines the page!

Regards.

Also it actually simplifies things if you don’t want the extra ‘close’ box

I will do a revised version showing different settings on the rollover and target show/hide actions which will display image 1 and when you rollover the next thumb image 1 hides and image 2 displays

A bit later though!
