Link styles behaviour

Hi, pllllleeease could somebody take a look at my the styling of my links on this page and the others on the site:

http://udio.co.uk/index.html

and tell me why they are appearing as purple on the uploaded pages but blue –as I intend for them– in preview? To be clear, I would like them styled thus:

Normal - Dark custom blue (‘colour 3’)
Hover - White
Active - White

For some reason I’m getting purple when Normal on all links. Must be a very simple solution here to do with basic css protocol that I do not understand.

take it easy

You need to set the Visited color to be the same as your Normal color, that way you won’t get the browser default behavior, which is to color visited links a different color (purple in most browsers) to tell you that you’ve been there.

Walter sometimes I wish I could download you, thank you. Could you also tell me what the best way would be to style the text which must be clicked to trigger the slide-down transition effect, so that it too appears white on hover and blue in Normal? I’m using transition effects to do this but am wondering if Accordian would offer more control over this kind of thing?

Usually, the easy way to do this is to do absolutely no styling at all when you create the link – you can style the paragraph of text your link appears in, but do no local styling at all to the words within the paragraph, particularly the words that contain the link. Then click once on the outer HTML box that contains this link, and set your link styles there in the Inspector’s Style tab, Links segment. These local styles will override any default styles you set on the entire page.

Interesting page - a couple of observations.

I struggle a bit to read the smaller white text against your light grey background and I am curious as to why you have the Contact link stuck to the bottom of the browser window. It seems to be missing from all but the index page.
