Little Snitch

I’ve just installed Little Snitch, it is a bit of a pain to train it
initially all the email collections and various other auto checking routines
for applications.

But this morning I uploaded a few pages to one of my sites, wow how many
times did FW 4.x change the port.

The domain coming up is mail.pgt7.com which is my account on the Have Host
server, but the site I was uploading was lanius.org.uk. Anyway that was not
the problem.

The initial check was a

TCP connection on port 21 (ftp) of mail.pgt7.com

FW then continued to make a series of 38 different calls on completely
different ports:

30237
31938
32806

I won’t bore you with more

I’ve not looked yet but I can probably exclude FW from port checking, BUT
what is it doing jumping around all those ports, I’ve not seen any other app
do it.

Best wishes Peter

This is how passive FTP works. It’s nothing to worry about.

Switch Transmit to passive mode and see how that behaves…

Just set it to allow all connections for Freeway ‘should be safe’, then it won’t ask you again.
