Looking for a simple flat file events listing system

Thanks Max. Other than the events post not automatically removing itself after the event date I think it is pretty close. I’ll give this some thought.

Tim

Hi tim it’s sort of what I created for photographer friend, but in her case she needed to create a blog type area and its almost the same structure

In her example the items were webyep items within a webyep loop and those specific block had a read more link page. The only difference is in my example I just made it look like a blog layout, and I added a feed-back form on the linked read more pages for people to leave there comments. The layout of your example looks something like a normal webyep loop to me. This is my example:

and here was my original experiment:

This sort of has the functionality you may be looking for… is that the sort of thing you were thinking of?

Tim,

You could make the event at least hide using WebYep. The key is using the plain text field to capture a date from the user to process, validate and store the date back into WepYep plain text field to use again check the system time/date and use php hide the display event div and show ‘event over’.

I’ve done a few mini apps using WebYep to do things like this. You’ll need to know a few little api’s to make it work.

Hi Tim
David is quite correct the start and end date can also be added quite easily…
here is quick screen shot showing how the start and and end date would look like in edit mode

http://www.obdev.at/Images/webyep/examples/ttLoop-zoomed.png

its fairly rudimentary but it would allow your friend to launch an item when ever they wished eg in advance and end it at a specific date

if its of any interest then let me know and I will send you over the lab collie example with everything you need.

speak soon max
